Zoom: Setting Audio and Video Defaults

Zoom settings can be set to not automatically display video or audio when joining a meeting.

To verify and update these settings, select the Settings tool in the desktop app.

Select Audio from the Settings menu and place a check in the box for Always mute microphone when joining meeting to disable the feature.

Select Video from the Settings menu and place a check in the box for Turn off my video when joining meeting to disable the feature.
